Friso Gold 3
Written by Karen
Saturday, 18 March 2006

Started Kristy on the next stage of milk powder, Friso Gold 3, on Thursday. This time my mother and I decided to buy 1 big tin (1.8kg) to share. It costs $34.50 whereas 2 small tins (each 900g) costs $18.50. We mix 2 scoops of Friso Gold 3 with 5 scoops of Friso Gold 2 (for 220ml of water). Everything seems ok for now. No allergy, no constipation. Good.

But I realised Friso Gold 3 powder is not as fine as Friso Gold 1 and 2. Maybe because it's no longer for infants or babies? Hmm.

Fever and runny nose
Written by Karen
Thursday, 16 March 2006

Mother called on Wednesday afternoon and said Kristy's nose was running quite seriously and she seemed to be running a fever. Upon hearing that, I decided to take urgent 1/2 day child leave and rushed back home to take the medicine to my mother's place. Fed her the running nose and panadol syrup.

She was quite cranky maybe due to the runny nose. And she couldn't really eat as well as normal. After the evening bath, I pasted the cooling patch over at her forehead. I was surprised that she did not try to remove the patch. :)

She also did not seemed to have a good nap in the afternoon, and it worsen her crankiness during the evening time. She even fell asleep on my mother's shoulder which is a first time. Looked like she was really very tired.

But today she was alright. Fever had gone away but the nose is still as runny. And she had become very very very "teh". Fed her the ABC pasta today for the first time but she didn't like it. In the end I had to finish up the rest of the pasta. -_-"

Hope her runny nose will go away soon too. I suspect all these are due teething. Maybe her lateral incisors are coming out soon. *Pray for her speedy recovery*

Mass Updates

Has not  been very hardworking in updating the blog recently. Everytime when I want to blog something, the laziness will creep in and the task will be shelved till don't know when.

So today, I've finally decided to update her blog. Remember to click on Read More. :p

Blank!

Thursday, 09 March 2006

Hasn't been updating Kristy's blog for days. Reason being that I don't know what to blog. Supposed to blog on the birthday bashes that she attended on last Saturday (Elodie's) and last Sunday (Elvina's) but don't know what to write. Keke. And since the other mummies had blogged it down, I thought I would just reference from there. :p

What she had been doing recently is just basically walking here and there NON-STOP! It's just so tiring to pay full attention to her just in case she knocked herself or fell down or just anyhow grab stuff from the edge of the tables.

Bought 2 books for her recently too. Opened up the book on Colors. Inside there are some items. When I asked her where is ball, 猫, flower or fish, she will point at the correct item. But of course I have to first flip to the page that has the items lah. :p

I think she recognises some of the stuff but just that she's sometimes lazy to point it out. :p

10th & 11th month milestones
Written by Karen
Thursday, 02 March 2006

Ok. Before I start on her milestones, I would like to say something. Kristy manages to stand up on her own just now!! Ok ok...make things a bit clearer. She's able to change to standing position from sitting/crawling position without any support or assistance. *Clap clap clap*

And also her upper central incisors are out! BIG BIG! keke

And! She will pat on her head, point at her nose or ears when we ask her "头/鼻子/耳剁在那里?" in Cantonese.

Ok. Now on her milestones. Remember to click on Read More to read it. :p (Some people tend to miss the Read More link)

Jonas 1st Birthday Party
Written by Karen
Saturday, 25 February 2006

We attended Jonas' 1st birthday party this afternoon. It was also a good gathering for the little fellows. Elodie, Elvina, Edus, Jacia, Shannon & Serene, Talia, Ashlyn, Junray and Jolene were there.

It was quite chaotic when the little fellows snatch one another's toys and my little terrorist hitting on poor Elodie. Sorry gal. And when the little fellows started to "talk" in their own language, it was a funny sight. And I wonder if they understand what one another was saying. :p

No photos though because this blur and forgetful mother forgot to put the camera inside the bag although she kept reminding herself before leaving the house. For photos, please visit the other babies' site. :)

Thanks again Joyce for the invitation. :)

Walking
Written by Karen
Friday, 24 February 2006

Kristy has been more willing to walk recently. But I will have to make her stand properly first then she will start to walk towards me. She will walk-run towards me and upon reaching, she will open up her arms and hug me. Awwww....

But it's still not steady yet. She will fall onto her butt at times at her first step. Or she would be too lazy to walk and just refuse to stand up. :p

Wonder if she will be able to walk on her own before she turns 1 year old. :)

PD Visit
Written by Karen
Wednesday, 22 February 2006

Brought Kristy to see a PD this morning because she kept scratching her "mei-mei" which I think should be very itchy.

I brought her to the PD @ Rail Mall, Baby n Kids Specialist Clinic. Dr Lieu said there is a bit of infection due to the scratching. She prescribed a cream for her to apply and an oral medicine for her to consume to minimise the itchiness. Overall I would say Dr Lieu is quite friendly and nice. Will be bringing Kristy back to this clinic in the future. One bad thing is I will have to call for an appointment because walk-in visits might have to wait for a long time. But we were lucky this morning. :)

Kristy had her weight and height taken this morning. Weight is 10.28kg (WOAH! increase of 580g since 1+ months ago) and height is 76.5cm (increase of 2.5cm since 1+ months ago).

Subject: [littleprecious] Appeal to Mummies... - Contributions to Jadon Baby
Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 10:28 AM

Many of you may have read about Jadon Baby who has been hospitalised since birth and undergone many surgeries. The link is provided below for your reading.

I have sms Pris (Jadon Mum) and these are the items that she needs
i) steam steriliser
ii) diapers
iii) wipes
iv) bottle cleansers

As the medical/hospitalisation fees are very high for little Jadon, she wouldnt mind if we contribute a bit to her as well.  All cheques should be addressed to Priscilla Chan (Pl make sure this is correct)

Her mailing addy is Blk 159A Rivervale Crescent #08-657 S541159

For me, i will be sending her NTUC vouchers as she can pick up diapers, wipes and other bb stuff that she needs.

While we celebrate life and new progresses made by our children, let us not forget those who need our help and our prayers. My most sincere thanks to mummies who will be contributing.

Teeth out?
Written by Karen
Monday, 20 February 2006

Kristy has been grinding her lower central incisors and upper gums. If listen carefully, can hear the grinding sound of 2 hard objects. If not she will knock her lower incisors against her upper gums. A "cluck cluck" sound can also be heard.

So I tried to pry open her mouth. Keke. Saw a tiny bit of white. So I guess the upper central incisors will be out soon?

Drinking from straw
Written by Karen
Friday, 17 February 2006

Kristy had finally learn how to drink from the straw. :)

My mother said that she started it yesterday afternoon but she forgot to tell me. -_-"
Maybe Kristy was not used to it yet, so she drank quite fast and water will overflowed from her mouth. :p

Also, she learnt a new trick, or should I call it a skill? :p Whenever my father asked her, "有没有?" in cantonese, she will stick out her tongue to show if there's anymore food inside her mouth. Whahaha.
